Let’s pack the room at the Capitol for the GORRC Hearing!

Certified Professional Midwives are being told that they can not use their National Certification in the state of Georgia. One midwife has already received a Cease and Desist Order from the Secretary of State. 

Georgia HB717 Licensed Midwife Act continues to move forward. Currently, we are in the GORRC (Georgia Occupational Regulation Review Council). The GORRC exists to discover whether or not licensing CPMs would harm Georgia Residents. We must pass with their approval before we can move forward with our bill into the House Health and Human Services Committee. Our next GORRC meeting is on October 30th.

We need to pack the room with support! We will be presenting further on our education and training and there will be an opportunity for those in the audience to speak as well. This is an opportunity to make signs and show up and let your voice be heard if you think Georgia mothers deserve access to Certified Professional Midwives!
